Scoolpt on Thessaloniki International Fair in Thessaloniki, Greece

Our sculpture and architectural studio Scoolpt from České Budějovice is preparing for the prestigious 89th Thessaloniki International Fair – Thessaloniki International Fair, which this year celebrates the 100th anniversary of the founding of the TIF-HELEXPO organization. We will present our latest projects made of 3D printed concrete in a unique Greek environment.

The main artistic piece of our exhibition will be the monumental Calypso sculpture – a 4.7-meter-long work that represents the fusion of our art with cutting-edge technology. The sculpture consists of layered horizontal levels of 3D printed concrete, creating a stylized character reminiscent of topographic contour lines.

After the exhibition ends, a new chapter begins for Calypso. We will transport it to Corfu island, where it will be submerged into the sea and become part of a newly emerging underwater sculpture park. This creates an entirely new dimension of artistic experience – the sculpture can then only be seen with diving equipment, creating a unique space where art meets the marine environment. Beyond its artistic aspect, the sculpture will become a new home for underwater organisms.

Another practical exhibit will be our Donut outdoor kitchen with integrated grill, which we specially designed for summer outdoor grilling. The entire grill is 3D printed from concrete and partially decorated with mosaic. Inside the structure, we have practically positioned wooden shelves that provide ample space for storing dishes, food, and all equipment needed for grilling.

We have prepared 3D printed chess tables with seating for visitors. These functional urban furniture elements allow not only viewing our exhibits but also active participation – you can play a game of chess with us, or prepare something at the Donut grill and enjoy the exhibition atmosphere.

Our entire exhibition will be complemented by planters from our Cell collection (Single Cell, Double Cell, and Triple Cell) along with planters inspired by chanterelle mushrooms. These elements utilize advanced non-planar 3D printing, which allows us to create complex organic shapes impossible with traditional manufacturing methods.

Special attention deserves our concrete beetle sculptures, which we create by casting residual concrete during printer startup or shutdown to utilize all material. We cover each beetle with mosaic that emphasizes its characteristic features while demonstrating our philosophy of sustainability and creative material management.
