3D concrete printing (3DCP)

3D concrete printing (3DCP – 3D Dimensional Construction Printing) is a method used for printing buildings, urban furniture, furniture, and more. It allows us to create shapes that traditional concrete formwork could never achieve.

A rising technology, a future in construction, and visually striking products—this is 3D concrete printing.

To bring a design to life, we need a robot, a suitable material, and a printable 3D design—and then we’re ready to go!

Scoolpt – Your Partner for Realization

We’re the right partner for your project! We design, sketch, conduct studies, prepare project documentation, and bring everything to life. We’re happy to involve your experts at every stage, creating a unique collaboration that enriches everyone involved.

  • Construction 3D printing technology enables the creation of organic, creative, functional, and durable elements.
  • 3D concrete printing is perfect for architectural and garden elements, innovative urban furniture, sculptures, and purely aesthetic pieces.
  • We create custom 3D-printed concrete planters, benches, tables, stairs, trash bins, sculptures, and garden features—all tailored to the space.
  • As pioneers in 3D concrete printing in the Czech Republic, we created the country’s first 3D-printed house. We named it Prvok, designing it as a habitable sculpture.

3D Concrete Printing Specifications

  • Visible Layering – The printing process creates distinct, visible layers.
  • Layer Variations & Weaving Effects – Possibilities include different layering patterns and textures.
  • Printing Organic Shapes – The technology allows for complex, free-flowing forms.
  • Single-Path Printing – Designs must be structured for continuous printing without interruptions, ensuring seamless execution by the robot.

Concrete Printing Process

  • Creating a Digital 3D Model – The model must meet all technical requirements.
  • Material Preparation – Mixing the concrete blend with additives.
  • Printer Setup – Adjusting print speed and nozzle size.
  • Concrete Extrusion – The concrete is pumped through the nozzle and deposited layer by layer according to a predefined plan.
  • Layer-by-Layer Printing – The printer builds up the object gradually until completion.
  • Stability Monitoring – Reinforcements, such as metal supports, can be added if necessary.
  • Curing Time – The concrete needs 24–48 hours to set.
  • Full Hardening – For complete strength, a curing period of at least one week is recommended.

Advantages od 3D Concrete Printing – Why Choose It?

The demand for 3D construction printing (3DCP) is growing as builders, property owners, and architects recognize its potential in the industry.

  • Sustainable Material Use – Incorporates slag and other waste materials, giving them a second life.
  • Streamlined Production3D modeling generates print-ready data, allowing for last-minute design changes with minimal cost.
  • Automation Saves Labor – The digitalized process reduces the need for manual work.
  • Lower Environmental ImpactMaterial efficiency leads to less waste.
  • Unique Shapes & Textures – Creates innovative, never-before-seen forms and surfaces.
